“Excuses and Answers”

“Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’” Exodus 4:10

Just recently I have been drawn to study the life of Moses. He was such an extraordinary man. He was a Hebrew born in a season of death. In Moses’ day, Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt, became fearful that the Israelites would become too great and take over. So, acting on this fear, he made a decree that every baby boy born of the Hebrew women must be killed (Exodus 1:22). From the very beginning Moses’ life had been appointed by God. His life was saved, by the daughter of Pharaoh, and he became her son.

From the beginning of my relationship with God, I have felt called to ministry. To tell of the wonders of Jesus and share what He has done in my life. As I continue to reach out to more people, I see that the enemy of my God and of my life desperately wants me to give up. In the past month, I have had an emergency surgery. As well, accusations were spoken against my family and me. This is not a coincidence. Although the situations did take a toll on my time, they did not take anything away from my faith in Christ. Every trial that I have walked through has only solidified my purpose to serve the one true living God.

As I continue my walk with the Lord, Romans 12:2 has become so real in my life: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Every year that I further my walk with God, I see comforts in life that must be rooted out for me to prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5. My question to you is this, what do you need to eliminate from your life to be in God’s presence? Moses had to remove his sandals because they were filthy, and he was standing on holy ground. God is now offering you to come onto holy ground to see extraordinary things in your life. Are you willing to change to see new levels? In order to see your family and marriages restored, to bring back Christ in our school systems and to witness revival in this nation, we must change.

It’s time to take off our sandals, and submit our wills to the purpose that God has called us to.

“Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’” Exodus 4:11-12
