"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God." Colossians 1:10

About us

Good Samaritan Mission Services was established in 1977, by pastor and former Presidential advisor, Dr. Richard S. Brannon. Originally founded as a religious, nonprofit organization, our primary ministry was the distribution of “Words of Life” in the form of Scripture Greeting Cards. Since then, more than 900 million cards have been shared with people all over the world. As the ministry grew, another outreach was conceived and became known as The Good Samaritans. In the process, more than $2,000,000.00 has been provided by the Fund to assist various children's programs. A major focus of The Good Samaritans is its partnership with healthcare institutions. Since hospitals and medical facilities are the doorways through which a large number of hurting people can be reached, The Good Samaritans offers programs to strengthen these organizations and provide direct support to families. Two such programs making a difference in the lives of needy children are “Operation HuggaBear” which brings comfort to sick children in the form of cuddly teddy bears, and “LifeLine,” a program that assists with medical transportation needs.

Our Leadership

  • Richard S. Brannon, a Doctor of Theology and former Presidential Advisor, serves as Founder and President of Good Samaritan Mission Services. The son of a minister, Dr. Brannon felt God's calling at the young age of 16, and knew that full-time Christian service was to be his life direction. In 1977, after pasturing several churches and serving in the White House as a Special Assistant to President Ford, Dr. Brannon formed Good Samaritan Mission Services to fulfill his lifelong vision. This vision was based on his firm belief that “innovative outreaches must be developed to meet human needs, and that the church as an institution is essential in the work of the Lord.

  • Reverend Stuart Andrew Brannon joined the Good Samaritans in 1995. He is the Executive Vice President of the organization and coordinates the daily operations along with the strategic development of the ministry. Rev. S.A.Brannon took a different path than his father by establishing himself in a construction and business career while raising 4 children of his own. It was not till his early forties that he felt called to the ministry. It was during these days that he obtained his Masters of Divinity Degree while working full time at the Mission. "Hard honest work, whatever it may be, is always good preparation for ministry," he maintains. Rev. Brannon's greatest desire is to see the Good Samaritans legacy grow and thrive into an organization of world wide notoriety. "With the legacy already established during the past thirty plus years, Good Samaritans has the honor and duty of doing great things for the kingdom of God!"

Financial Accountability

Good Samaritan Mission Services was accepted by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt, nonprofit ministry in the year of our founding, 1977. We have always made extra efforts to assure financial and ethical procedures by accounting for every contribution and expenditure.
